Wrenbridge Sport acted as project managers for Brentford FC’s new community stadium.

Brentford FC relocated from its former home at Griffin Park to a purpose-built community stadium at Lionel Road South, Brentford. The new 17,500-seat stadium was designed and delivered in full compliance with FA Premier League requirements and was also fully compatible with top-flight rugby union.

The enabling development that funded the stadium comprised a residential-led scheme of more than 900 apartments surrounding the stadium, together with the redevelopment of the former Griffin Park site for family housing. The project created a new hub within Brentford, regenerated a former industrial site and delivered improvements to the local railway station.

A landmark planning consent was secured, demonstrating that, due to the overall viability of the project and the importance of both the Club and its Community Trust, no affordable housing provision was required. As part of the planning process, commitments were made to deliver more than £11 million of community benefits within the borough through the Community Trust.
